Guided by curiosity for complete understanding and the conviction to get it right, Anitra Schulte opened the door to consultancy Strategy.ink in 2015. Anitra is a writer and communications professional with more than 15 years of experience telling stories with professional precision.
A magna cum laude graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia's School of Journalism, Anitra started her career on the editorial side of news as a contributor to Wedding & Home magazine in London. Anitra earned awards for feature writing while on the staff of the Kansas City Star, and she covered news and features in suburban Chicago (Arlington Heights) and the City of Chicago (Wicker Park, Bucktown, Ukrainian Village) while a reporter for Pioneer Press and the Sun Times News Group, respectively.
In the press office of Chicago Public Schools, Anitra developed press events and wrote speeches for top CPS leadership, including then-CEO, and former Secretary of Education, Arne Duncan. In her publicity role, she also prepared and executed district-wide announcements and provided responses to a perpetual flow of press inquiries.
As an account director for leading Chicago PR boutique Henson Consulting, Anitra led a wide spectrum of accounts, including Giordano's Pizza, Adler Planetarium, Harris Theater and Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana, among many others. Within her niche of writing and content creation, Anitra served as the firm's go-to resource for grammar and style, and spearheaded video and website development projects. Her inside knowledge of the media and long-standing media relationships resulted in thousands of high-profile media placements for her clients, from front-page stories to broadcast features.
Strategy.ink is Anitra's independent pursuit to give clients of all types and sizes a direct link to sound counsel, effective strategy and hands-on execution. Anitra lives in Geneva, Ill., with her husband and their three daughters.
